Works:
Following the proposed construction of a new larger grandstand to accommodate the ever growing interest in the annual Edinburgh Tattoo, NBSC have been commissioned to assess the safety and wellbeing of a group of monuments situated on the north side of the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. This commemorative monument to the Scottish Horse Regiment who were killed during the South African War of 1901-2, is one of this group.
Works included:
Stabilising the Monument , Excavating Construction Joints, Removing Bronze Components, Deconstructing Masonry Components, Removing Biological Growth, Removing and Replacing Previous Repairs , Removing Copper Staining, Removing Environmental Pollution Soiling, Workshop Based Conservation Works, Cleaning, Chemical Treatments, Repatinating Bronze, Protective Wax Treatment, Construction of Bastion Support Structure, Reconstructing Monument, Re-bedding, Re-attaching Bronze , Re-Pointing of Construction Joints.
