Key consultancy services include contributing to Conservation Plans and writing tender specifications and Methodologies.

Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation is a company that specialises in the practical and consultative conservation of carved and decorative stonework, sculpture, statuary architectural decoration and historic building fabric throughout Scotland and Northern England. We are experienced in the conservation of:

  • Neolithic Standing Stones
  • Pictish Symbol Stones
  • Ecclesiastical sculpture (memorials, grave markers and effigies)
  • Sculpture (historic and contemporary, private and municipal)
  • Statuary (garden and municipal)
  • Historic building fabric (façade, ruinous and complete)

Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation provides conservation treatments to subjects both carved and modelled from materials such as sandstone, limestone, granite, marble, alabaster, lime plaster and terracotta.

Currently, the company works in conjunction with Lynton Lasers Ltd – manufacturers of the Phoenix Conservation Laser for the sensitive and selective removal of soiling and corrosion products.

Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation also provides specific training courses in conservation techniques for both groups and individuals.
